Mike Posner is back after a 2-3 year hiatus from music! He's responsible for hits "Cooler Than Me", "Please Don't Go" and "Bow Chicka Wow Wow" in 2010/2011, and has officially returned with a new song, "The Way it Used to Be", for the summer. He has also announced a new project of his own for fall called "Pages". Posner, since his chart-topping hit run a few years back, co-wrote Boyfriend with Justin Bieber, which went #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was a decently-sized hit worldwide.
So in other words, he will continue writing smashes for other artists and make his money, while occasionally releasing chart smashing songs for himself every couple years? Sounds about right, I can get with that.
Anyway, this slays. Mike Posner is once again showing his songwriting talent. It's instantly catchy. Radio will eat this up like no tomorrow.
Listening again, I am definitely seeing the Owl City comparisons. The melodies of the chorus especially and some of the vocal nuances are very similar. It's a nice breezy song, but I prefer his stuff like "A Perfect Mess" and "Please Don't Go".
