Easily the World Trade Center because of the September 11th tragedy. There's no competition when it comes to symbolism and recognition.

well first of all, even if the attack never happened, the WTC towers were a fixture in the NY skyline, always shown in movies shot in NY.

unless you're reading into **** like this, i can guarantee less than 75% of people you ask will know what the Petronas Towers are. they're not iconic at all. and there's plenty of other structures across the world more recognizable
