No. If you're not being forced to take drugs and drink, and you get addicted then it's your own fault. Some people can do drugs and drink in moderation and banning it would be pointless.
In all honestly, alcohol and cigarettes are a LOT worse for you than many of the drugs we have made illegal (marijuana, LSD, ecstasy).
However, you're just going to create a huge black market for them if you make them illegal. The best thing do is what we do now, heavily regulate them.
No. I do have a problem with cigarettes because of the second-hand smoke, but I'm biased because I genuinely don't understand why anyone would smoke one in the first place (to each his own). Plus, banning drugs wouldn't stop drug abuse since we could never ban prescription drugs. And illegal drugs are still being used now, despite current laws, so a ban wouldn't have much of an effect.
The only people who benefit from criminalization are black market workers. It is not an economically feasible idea as many businesses would suffer if such a law were to be implemented.
