does anybody really care about Janet Jackson anymore?? After Damita Jo and 20 y.o. it's surprising she even has any fanbase left at all. Unless her next album really wows people she's pretty much a hasbeen.

it's not surprising at all because for all the AMAZING work she's done from 1986 to 2002, she's gained the status of ICON. Very few artist can last 16 years (Madonna, Mariah and Celine can, as well as Barbra Streisand and Aretha Franklin).

So all the so called wannabe divas from today's music... will have to prove they can last at least 15 years and then maybe in 15 years they will have the honor to be called divas.

Otherwise they're just fashion.

The world's been so infactuated with Britney et al. that they've forgotten about the Queen of Pop/R&B...hell MUSIC. When you've reached the legacy that is of Janet Jackson, you'll never be forgotten. Ever. She can go away for an entire damn decade and still have ten times as many fans as anyone else. Why? She's Janet. I mean..Ms. Jackson if you're nasty.

REALLY?!!! you thought 'So Excited' was a good song? It sounded terrible to me and I really, really tried to give it a chance. It didn't leave any impression the way her singles pre-Damita Jo did. It really wasn't catchy and lacked a melody but it just had a really heavy beat and that's why it succeeded on the dance charts, but I mean come on, nobody that listens to dance music in the clubs is interested in lyrics, melody, or singing--all they care about is a beat to dance to
