It's not so much that people will attack the OP as that this will inevitably lead to a bitter argument, which worries me.
This could be an interesting discussion in the right environment, but I'm not sure it will stay calm on ATRL, though I'm sort of interested to see the input o both sides of the argument.
Personally, it feels to me like gay people are more legally repressed and suffer extreme social prejudice mostly in the form of religion, but black people today still suffer the effect of racist attitudes and lingering hatred from long before the Civil Rights movement of the 50's and 60's. I think it's very difficult to say either group has it worse off on the whole. There are still people who are injured or even killed for being either of these things.
