And at the end of the day, it's really not confirming anything. It's an educated guess that is based on the assumption that she'll be making an appearance at the VMAs. Which isn't a guarantee, by any means.

I don't feel the single release is that much of a mystery. It's been obvious that it'd drop at some point in summer for a while, and considering the VMAs are in August it'd be no later than that.

The album, however, is less clear. One or two lead singles? Alongside single? Same week as VMA performance? September for Grammy cut-off? November for Q4 sales?

That's just speculation obviously but I would be 1123423104981 percent here for it.

How has it been obvious? What hints have there even been? So far we've got nothing to go off of, and it's been that way since last year when it was "obvious" she was going to have an album out for the 2012 holidays.

Ok, "obvious" was a bit strong...but when you think about it...

- It makes most sense to get the album out by mid-September so ARTPOP wouldn't compete against her Tony album at the 2015 Grammys. If that's the case, the single will come out beforehand - in summer.

- Speaking of which, she's recording the Tony album this month...so a Q4 release for that seems logical, in which case they surely wouldn't overlap with ARTPOP then and get it out before...which would give a summer single.

- If she did re-record the vocals in May like it appears, they'd logically have the album out relatively quickly...which would give us a summer single. Otherwise, why not just leave that till closer to deadline to minimalise costs of re-re-recording Gaga's constant edits/additions?

- The safest and most logical time for her to drop a dance song is summer so clubs can embrace it with maximum public impact.

- She hinted at a VMA comeback last year, which obviously requires a summer single. Plus, it's the most sensible way to launch her era. The Grammys would be the next appropriate platform, and they're 9 months away.

- Her recovery process is ending this month. Why would she wait another 6 months to launch ARTPOP for a Q4 launch? What's she going to do until then?

Her father said the single would be released around August/September.

As this point, if we don't get anything by the VMAs, we won't be getting anything until the 2014 Grammys.

I wanted the album late summer so I could at least bop to it in a beer garden or whatever, so ideally I'd like an early summer lead single. But I'll take whatever comes obviously.
