Yeah, they're probably going to take away the 8 gb model, just sell the 32 gb at a reduced price and/or introduce a new model with more gigs for a higher price.
They're probably doing it just in time for E3. They're going to build a lot of momentum there since they're unveiling a bunch of first-party exclusives so they just want to be prepared when people actually buy Wii U's.
It kinda sucks though because if they do sell a model with more HDD at the same price as the 32 gb model right now, I feel like they'll need to compensate their customers like they did with the 3DS. I mean I already bought mine and I'm definitely not buying another even if it has more memory.

As I said, things worked out for the 3DS after the price drop. The 'mess' was refering to the fact that they had to do it so soon after the release, when a lot of people had just bought the console for the higher price. That wasn't fair. I know they were compensated somehow but still... a stab in the back.
They're just recalling them on gamestops that have many of them, so they can say the sales have "increased" and that they're now "out of stock" after E3.
