Yes, she has. 6+ million for Breakaway in the US alone.
"Pretty much" doesn't translate to irrefutable fact. Beyonce has not sold a single solo album over 5 million. Shocking, but fact.
You're totally right. "Pretty much" isn't "yes". But she is almost there. No one is saying YES for Beyonce because she's almost there, they're just putting it into context. No need to highlight what we already know because we all know what "pretty much" means.
