So following Beyonce and Jessie J's concert in London for female empowerment, many critics are saying that the 21st century is no place for female empowerment, as gender equality has already been achieved and female empowerment is taking a step backwards, and is in fact sexist towards men.
(Not my opinion, just what I read!)
What do you feel about this? Do you think that gender equality is no longer an issue?
Yes it is. I wonder how the world will act if someone made a song about male empowerment
There's always "It's a Mans World" by James Brown (although you might take the lyrics differently depending on your perspective). In fact there's quite a few of then.
Yes. I'm sorry but the entire feminist movement annoys me at this point. Most of the time it seems as if it's fighting for superiority rather than equality. Songs like, Run the World (Girls), do not help.
Yes even Beyonce gave up the female empowerment when she released 'Bow Down Bitches'.
However gay empowerment is still very popular nowadays and earns celebs the most coins.
Women are granted more opportunities from my experience. While I was looking for a job earlier this year I found some really good opportunities for work that can be done by both genders (like being an accountant in my case) and yet those companies only choose to hire women.

But, as some of you have said, this songs don't support equality but a female supremacy over men, which it's not right, but that is very common in feminism, not only on this industry
