Reminds me of 'Polari', which was like a secret language of slang used by gays (and others) on the DL back in 19th century London.
The gay-lingo here can be funny when used properly and not just chucked about aimlessly to try and fit in or shoehorn in sass, but it's not something I'd use (beyond the odd 'shade' etc).
Jonathan Ross actually said "shade" to Zachary Quinto on his show the other week.
