TBH Mariah Carey is actually an amazing actress and can out-act most of the actors in Hollywood today. Although Glitter was panned, her performance received a lot of praise.
this film is considered to be one of the funniest films of all time. why would they try to remake it?? it would be like them trying to remake gone with the wind or casablanca.
So i'm assuming you've never actually seen the movie, as Marilyn Monroe plays a CHARACTER in the film, not herself.
"A Star Is Born" has been remade several times and the lead role was played by Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, and it was going to be Beyonce at one point...

She's a fine actress. Glitter may have been panned but her performance was actually really solid, and the vitriolic reviews probably had more to do with her celebrity status than her actual acting chops. Anyway, watch her in Precious and Tennessee and then say she can't act.
(But just because I'm defending her doesn't mean I want this to be true now. I still don't want a remake!)
