Aside from Kylie Minogue's new "Skirt" (#2), every song on this week's chart has peaked in either the #1 or #3 position on the chart. Union J's debut single "Carry You" remains at the top of the chart for the sixth consecutive week. This is also its sixth straight week with over 50 plays, meaning that the song now has more weeks with at least 50 plays than any other song in my chart's history. Union J's "Carry You" also holds the record for most consecutive weeks at #1 after debuting in that spot.
Selena Gomez's new "Slow Down" is her second consecutive #1 debut, following lead single "Come & Get It" (Apr 13, 2013). "Slow Down" additionally sets the 2013 record for most plays in one week, besting Union J's "Carry You." The boyband's lead single has finally been dethroned from the #1 spot on the chart, following a record-breaking 6 week run. However, "Carry You" surpasses 50 plays for the seventh consecutive week. Elsewhere on the chart, David Bowie's legendary "Heroes" and Kylie Minogue's signature smash "Can't Get You Out of My Head" both debut, as does the fourth entry from Amy Winehouse's acclaimed sophomore album Back To Black: "Some Unholy War."
