She is just being honest because she is generally frustrated that she's not on the radio. Let's be honest here guys, the stuff they play on the radio is a MESS. There are HARDLY and pop girls on it and it's all weird music from 2010, what's wrong with her wanting to hear her own hard work on the radio?

How would you like it if your voice was so great and your released beautiful music pieces and then got beaten by untalented pop girls like Ke$ha and Katy Perry. I sympathize with her actually.

But that means that k$ and Katy are doing something right that she isn't.
And she kind of shaded herself by saying "then I realized, you needs hit songs" when she wrote all of her songs before skyscraper, and every single since then has been a hit so in other words, she admits that she can't write a hit song.

Yeah Ke$ha and Katy are doing something right. However, it doesn't make them more talented. Demi is just showing her passion for creating 'real' music. In that interview she shows an understanding on how the music industry works. Remember she is pretty young, she still has a lot to learn.

Demi doesn't come off arrogant at all. She had a realization when she was felt stuck in her career and a way to get out of it and have the success she feels she deserves. You guys are being too hard on her, especially if you didn't watch the video.

A ten year old could tell you that generic radio-friendly songs = radio play.

Yeh, but Demi took the risk. Isn't it worth it? Now she realizes that catchy radio friendly songs are a better guarantee to become recognized in the music industry.
