This is not necessarily a bad thing
To be honest for me region-blocking is only a bad thing for Sony consoles.
Why ? Cause all the amazing Made-In-Japan games only get released on Playstations and not Xbox.

Do y'all really think the XBox will be the biggest console of 2013-2016 and smash a load of records? The Katy Perry comparison seems a bit over the top.
No one (I will repeat this for emphasis) NO ONE should have been surprised by this news. Microsoft has been against region-free gaming since the original Xbox. If you're going to hate Microsoft and the XBone, hate them for reasons that were going to be less obvious than a region lock. (And trust me, there's plenty to hate them for right now.)
