While in France for her Givenchy x Fenty collection debut in Paris, Rihanna appeared on Le Grand Journal to perform and sit down for an interview.
Rihanna performed her single "Black Butterflies" for the live TV audience. After she performed, she asked one of the fans in the audience what song they want her to perform. One fan requested "Disturbia", so she performed an acoustic rendition of Disturbia.
After her performance, Rihanna sat down for an interview. She discussed the fashion line and her new album.
"Givenchy x Fenty debuts today, once I leave here I'm going right to Paris to get ready for the debut. I'm ecstatic! It's gonna be crazy. I'm going to be performing during the show, as well as a surprise guest I can't say just yet. Ya'll can go to Givenchy.com/FentyStream to watch the debut live online!"
The official site for the Givenchy x Fenty line has been launched. There are photos from the ad campaign for the collection, including model shoots wearing the clothes, as well as Rihanna. The "Shop" section of the website is currently locked, as the line has not officially debuted yet. This section will be available after the debut runway show.
There is also a video on the site titled "Making of Givenchy x Fenty" that is a collection of video clips of Rihanna designing, selecting, and creating the line from scratch.
The site also has a link to the stream, which is also on Givenchy.com/FentyStream, so fans and fashion lovers can view the debut online on the exclusive HD stream.
The long awaited fashion collaboration with Rihanna and Givenchy has officially debuted in Paris!
Outside the show celebrities, including Vanessa Hudgens, Rihanna's friend Selena Gomez, Cassie, Tom Ford, Karl Lagerfeld, and Katy Perry, arrived to the silver carpet to take photos for the crowds of paparazzi.
One inside, the runway was set up in an interesting way. Instead of straight runways, Rihanna had designed a new, innovative set-up for the models to walk on. It wasn't long before the lights turned off, the runway illuminated purple, and Rihanna's album "Robyn" began to echo. The opening track "Take Me On A Ride" played as the first few looks came out onto the runway.
After "Take Me On A Ride" completed, Rihanna surprised the crowd by appearing on the right side of the Runway to perform "Black Butterflies" with Selena Gomez. The crowd roared as the runway show picked up with the two stars performing, as well as the looks becoming more vibrant and interesting.
After the performance finished, Rihanna rejoined behind the scenes to help the models dress and help the show run smoother. Selena Gomez came back in the middle of the show to perform a solo song.
After the show completed, Rihanna came out to thank everyone.
"I can't thank any of you enough - the people at Givenchy, the girls at the design lab, the people of France for inspiring me with this collection and welcoming me so warmly, and all my friends, family and FANS who support me through every creative endeavor. This collection is a personal reflection of my style and my taste and I'm extremely proud of it. Thank you again for coming out!"
She then walked down the runway herself as the crowd roared and cheered, giving her a standing ovation. At the end of the show, the "Black Butterflies" music video played as a backdrop.
