The bar made famous by Luc Carl is no longer in existence. Punk rock club St. Jerome’s at 155 Rivington Street closed for good Tuesday night, one day after Community Board 3 approved a new license for the space. A handful of tipsters alerted us to the ill tidings. Apparently the staff and DJs were informed sometime yesterday.
At Monday’s SLA subcommittee meeting, Christopher Miller of Miller’s Near & Far reportedly received the green light for full liquor onsite. It’ll become a bar-restaurant that offers “small plate sausage, cheese, and dried fruit.”
There had been some chatter that St. Jerome’s would remain open through mid-summer, but that did not come to pass. Neither did those plans for Carriage House vets to take it over…
