Demi will get $2 or more which is still low IMO. I'm not surprised Paulina is getting more than Kelly, she's a huge star in latin-america and i believe part of Simon's decision to hire her is to bring in some latin viewers. The show is pretty big here.

I'm happy with these payments. I'd rather have a good judge be paid $1 million than a bad judge be paid $12 to $18 million.

Plus, it will leave room for some good performers to get booked on results night. American Idol was a wasted promo opportunity since almost all the performers were past Idol contestants that no one cared about bar a few of them. When you pay divas big checks, you lose money for other areas of the show like booking good performers or getting good celebrity duets.

There will be more money for people like Little Mix or Carly Rae Jepsen to perform
