Niche acts can be defined as music acts that only appeal to their fanbase and have no major relevance in the contemporary music scene, aka they don't get hit singles anymore (because those are the singles that the public at large listens to and enjoys, the ones that play on the radio, in clubs, at parties, etc) even if they are able to sell a large amount of albums and tour successfully because of their fanbase.
This usually occurs to artists when they reach a certain stage in their career after many decades of success, however for others their relevance fades sooner but they are still left with a sizeable amount of devotees.
As you can see, the 4 album sold 1.3 million copies in the US and 2.5 million worldwide, decent numbers. However, none of her singles reached the Top 15 in America (some of them even failed to chart at all despite intensive promotion), and worldwide she had no major hits whatsoever.
My question is:
Is Beyonce part of this group of niche artists who don't really have any relevance as a contemporary music artist, but can still sell albums/tour? In other words, is Beyonce's music embraced by anyone other than her hardcore fans anymore?
Keep it cute
