Does it really matter if Nicki (as of yet) doesn't have a classic album or single? She's still an icon herself, and she'll always be noted as reopening doors for female rap when that genre was pretty dead (on a mainstream level). So it's actually herself that is "timeless", which is even better than a song.

I wouldn't say she's a legend but she is on her way to becoming a rap mogul. She'll get there when it's all said and done!

This's how the media can make an artist or totally ignore him, Nicki is the perfect example for such a thing, she's a media darling because she gives them exactly what they need to sell. They say she changed the Hip Hop world but the fact that she still doesn't have another successful hip hop song other than Super bass which was released 3 years ago says it all.

To go from selling 2M copies of your debut album to not being able to sell a million of your second one says it all that right now she's more of a product than an actual rapper making a living by selling music.

um...yes and no. Take Birdman for example (yes, that Birdman)

Birdman is one of the worst rappers ever, but has given us Cash Money Records, which gave us the Hot Boyz and Big Tymerz , which in turn birthed Lil Wayne and eventually Young Money, with Drake and Tyga and Nicki. All off an independant label, and pretty much proved you dont need a label to be successful. That is legendary ****. Not 2 albums and a perfume which I'm pretty sure the lions share is going back to Birdman anyway.

Does no one know that Biggie used to be hated by the "real hip-hop fans" for being too commercial sometimes? And now that he's dead, he's reached legend status? Say what you want, but Nicki will be a legend just for the fact the she revived female rap. When she's done making music, another rap girl will take her spot and in her interviews she will say "Shout out to Nicki for opening the door again."
