GAYLUV went Top 10 in almost 20 countries, something none of Mariah's singles are likely to ever do again. She also annihilates her in touring and in album sales (globally, Music outsold Rainbow, American Life outsold Charmbracelet, Confessions outsold Emancipation, Hard Candy outsold E=MC2, MDNA outsold Memoirs). If Madonna beats her in single success, album sales and touring, it's safe to say that no, Mariah won't win against Madge again.

EDIT: Oh, this is about the US. Well it's just one market even if it's the biggest, but the rest of the world is far more important. I suppose Madonna might win in the future, as of now Mariah has the advantage because she appeals to RnB listeners as well.

I like Mariah, but we all have to face reality: she has always been a local act aside from Music Box , and Daydream as well.

Anything before and after was reliant on states. Her sales elsewhere outside of Japan are absolutely pathetic. But we all know Mariah has outsold Madonna in the US anyway, so.

She has about 4-5 diamond albums there. She's huge. But not elsewhere, though.

This is just wrong. Mariah Carey is a amazing as an artist and a person as well. Very smart, charismatic, and funny. Not trying to persuade your opinion but this is too far when she hasn't done anything.
