I'm getting the feeling that with this album, he wants mainly the true fans to buy it. The ones who truly understand him. I mean, Kanye has always gotten flak for his ego and sometimes for his bad moves. But over the past year or so, he has gotten so much flak for being with Kim, and sometimes for just stating his general opinion. With him not releasing a single (plus having somewhat dark tracks with abrasive titles like "Black Skinhead"/"New Slaves"), you mainly have the true Kanye fans + those who actually dug for info about it buying it. I think he wants people who want to listen to his masterpiece and understand it, rather than people who are just gonna buy it for 1 or 2 songs.
He's still gonna gonna smash and get that 85+ album on Metacritic, just you wait.
