Mary J. Blige is SCREWED! Owes the Garden State $3.4M

Mary J. Blige's financial woes have QUADRUPLED -- on top of the $900k she allegedly owes the Garden State, TMZ has learned MJB has been slapped with a $3.4 MILLION bill from Uncle Sam.
The IRS filed a federal tax lien against the Grammy winner, claiming she failed to pay all her income taxes for the years 2009 ($574,907.30), 2010 ($2,203,743.53) and 2011 ($647,604.60).
Tax bill grand total: $3,426,255.43. Translation: A LOT OF FREAKING MONEY.
Of course, the IRS needs to get in line ... the State of NJ says MJB still owes $901,769.65 in back taxes. Blige is being sued for allegedly defaulting on a $2.2 million bank loan and her charity is facing a lawsuit that claims it took out a $250k loan and never paid it back.
We reached out to Mary's team for comment -- so far nada. We also alerted them to TurboTax.

Well considering she's likely living a very luxurious lifestyle, even a few million could be considered broke. It all depends on where you are on the wealth ladder.

The entertainment industry is a double edged sword, you can make a LOT of money in a relatively short amount of time if you make it big, but that money can dry up as quickly and you have massive expenses constantly because of lawyers, managers, publicists, etc. A lot of actresses, singers, etc find themselves in this type of situation when their career starts to wind down as they get older despite being mega millionaires earlier on. For most other people it's the other way around, they accumulate their wealth as they get older. I'm also not sure what kind of pension singers like Mary would receive since she doesn't earn a monthly salary, more like advances from the label, individual contracts for performances or endorsements, royalties for songs, etc.
