Okay, I know I may seem like I'm trolling... especially lately but I'm serious about this. Not that I enjoy farting or anything of that nature but why does it "gross" people out SO much? Yes it is quite unappealing but it's natural... Showing skin, same-sex marriage etc and whatnot also used to gross people out back in them days and people are really moving on but when I see people say things like "farting is disgusting", "farting is the worst thing ever", "ugh why do people still fart?"... it makes me wonder. Why are people still so backwards about this? Again, I'm not trolling, just being curious - I've even refrained from using the LaToya gif because I want honest answers.

My roommates/friends all fart around me, as loud as they can to troll me, so I've been desensitized.

Yes, things have a set place and time but when you guys bring in dinner table excuses, it just goes to show how much of a taboo farting (still) really is. Farting is natural and if people have to go to the bathroom JUST to fart in 2013, then I don't know bout this world.
