But all in all, quality realistically doesn't yield hits. Which is what she needs more for her era to be really successful. Just because a song is heralded as amazing doesn't mean it will sell. Or sell the album.
These days, the album-shifting singles (and the bigger selling songs at that) are the ballads oriented for HAC/AC audiences and retrospective jams that are reminiscent of soul and funk. Not the EDM sounds that she's making with Zedd and Madeon, which don't sell albums and are struggling to go Platinum.
