Shakira Hails Angelina as an Inspiration to Women

When asked by E! News what she thought of the Oscar winner undergoing a preventive double mastectomy, the superstar suggested Jolie's brave decision to go through with the surgery and then go public about it make her a terrific role model.
"I think she's such a smart woman and what she's doing is inspiring so many women out there to make educated decisions, and I commend her for that," Shakira told us yesterday at the red carpet for The Voice's live elimination show in Los Angeles.
The 36-year-old "Hips Don't Lie" singer also dished to E! News about why she decided to exit The Voice after one season as coach, making way for Christina Aguilera's return to the hot seat.
"It was a hard decision for me to make, because I'm really fond of the coaches, the people in production and everybody around me," she said. "And I really enjoyed The Voice, but I also have a musical career and I'm also a mother now and my poor baby's so tired flying such long distances. He already has more miles than any pilot. So I think I have to give him a little break, and we'll see what happens in the future."
In January, Shakira and partner Gerard Piqué celebrated the birth of son Milan in Barcelona, where the couple make their home.
