In their financial report released today, Namco-Bandai specified that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 has fallen short of their expected sales for the title. Namco was hoping that the game would have hit 1.7 million copies shipped to retailers at the end of March 2013, but it ended up short with only 1.5 million copies shipped.
On a more positive note, Soul Calibur 5 was reported to be doing fine, having reached 1.05 million copies shipped during the current fiscal year, bringing its total to 1.7 million. Given the franchises' different sales history, it is likely that initial expectations for Soul Calibur 5 were also lower than that of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, making this Namco's current success story when it comes to fighting games.
Despite this unforeseen shortcoming, the company revenue as a whole is up compared to last year, from $192 million up to $324 million. Namco reported that they are forecasting a revenue of $233 million for the upcoming fiscal year, a profit of almost $100 million lower than their current results.

T6 didn't really sell that big initially too but it grew over the years especially in the tournament scene. That's what I see happening with this. Being a port from the Arcades, I expected this.
Dead Or Alive 5 reached Tecmos sales goal for a million copies so they're putting out another version with added content. TTT2 is a great game all is not lost.
But MKDC sold 3 million, MKDA 3 million, MKA 1.5 million, MKD 1 million and all of them were considered mediocre games.
