Chris Brown and Rihanna's dramatic on-and-off romance reached new heights when they took their spat to Twitter.
But the saga has grown even more complicated as an old lover re-emerged on Sunday night in Hollywood.
Chris was spotted partying at the same nightclub - Greystone Manor - as ex Karrueche Tran amidst rumours that the two have reunited less than a week after his split with Rihanna.
A source told HollywoodLife.com that Chris and Karrueche have been spending time together.
But apparently it's the Forever singer who rekindled the romance: 'He’s been initiating contact with her, not the other way around,' the source explained, 'I wouldn’t say Karrueche and Chris are together but they are talking and kicking it.'
Rihanna and Chris' tumultuous romance was put on pause last week as the two fired cryptic tweets about one another's shortcomings.
But a source close to Brown claims that Karrueche's re-emergence is to blame for the blow out: 'When Chris was in NYC celebrating a friend’s birthday, Rihanna found out that Karrueche was in town.
'She found out that they met up and so she dumped him.'
Despite her involvement in the love triangle the burgeoning fashion designer refuses to accept her culpability in the matter.
'That’s not her problem,' the source stated, 'She gave them their space respectfully when they were together and it was only when Chris stopped talking to Rihanna that she started hanging with him.'
