What do you know and think about my country, ROMANIA? Im so curious.

I know revolution of 1989 where Nicolae Ceauşescu was deposed and executed. I know that Transylvania is in Romania and that's about it.

A friend of mine born in '89, in Bucharest went away from Romania, with her family, when she was 1 y.o..I don't know if it's still that troubled..but I guess so..cause so many romanians immigrate in my country..I think of poverty and such things when I think about Romania..but I know it is a misconception since no romanians I know here are wealthy or such..I also can say the most beautiful girls in the world are romanians...

Dear you misunderstood Romania (the country in eastern Europe) with Rome (the city, in Italy)..or you just thought Rome is in Romania?

I thought Rome was the capital of Romania for obvious reasons...but judging by the people quoting I must have made a mistake

I know that Romanian and Moldovan are more or less the same language except Romanian uses the Latin alphabet and Moldovan uses Cyrillic alphabet. Cool stuff.

Dear, you're even from Europe..didn't you know Rome was the capital of Italy? It's like saying London it's the capital of Romania and the Big Bang is in it..I mean..all the history..the romans..

Um well gypsies are from Romania, yes? And does Romania have something to do with Dracula? That's all I've got.

From just watching tv....it's the place where gypsies are known to come from.

Romania gets covered a lot in the media here because the immigration restrictions on Romania and Bulgaria are to be loosened in the new year which has raised a lot of concerns (and has aided the rise of UKIP), there's a lot of comments about it being a poor country and stuff like that.

Other than that I don't know much.

I love Romania! One of my best friends immigrated from there and I had previously done a school project on it so when she came I bombarded her with questions. She's named me an honorary Romanian and I've hung out with her family and Romanian friends. They're great!
