Ciara's "hit" peaked higher on Billboard than 95% of the **** Dr. Luke's put out in the last 6 month so let's not with dat. Let's recall last month when six Mike Will Made It songs were charting on Billboard at the same time. He's a perfectly capable producer? I really don't understand what you were expecting her to put out???

That and I'm finally starting to agree (with someone I saw say this a long time ago) that we're putting way too much emphasis on who's producing her songs in the first place. If it's a good song it'll be a good song and it'll perform a lot better than if it's a bad song. It doesn't even matter who's produced it.

Ciara peaked high because the song and the music video were released on Youtube, iTunes and sent for radio adds on the SAME day. The girl is nowhere in the top 100 anymore and it's been 2 weeks since, how can that bit a "hit"?

Those 6 billboard entries weren't even top twenty (30? 40?) stable hits. But yes Legend M, get that gold certified smash singal and 200k selling alberm. I wouldn't be as "pessimistic" if the theories and logics you guys were coming up with correlated with each other or at least made some sense. The fact is, Fall Down peaked at #5 on iTunes, a song that would be a HIT if the lead single off this album. Ashtrays & Heartbreaks wasn't a hit, it was an Urban song. I'll take actual, real, cold hard receipts over these fairy tales. Sorry if I don't think she'll smash with material people aren't familiar with from her.

Not having confidence in your fave releasing Urban music when her last era was a flop in the US, couldn't even produce a 1 million selling single (never confirmed by a real source) or even have a video that could cross the 100 million view mark in less than 2 years. OK!

You can't be predicting the lead's single success based on Ashtray's. It was snoops song that s not promoted and not handled well.

I'm confident about this one. Mainly because I'm sure they put a lot of thought into this including RCA who wouldnt allow a commercially unstable lead single to be released. I'm sure she knows what's at stake and she put a lot of thought into it.

Still acting like the reggae/dancehall song Ashtrays & Heartbreaks off of Snoop Lion's novelty reggae/dancehall album was somehow supposed to appeal to urban radio?

It's not even being confident, it's just me trusting that Miley, my favorite pop artist will somehow put out a good song (she has a decent track record!) and do well with it because it's not like Mike has some astronomical flop streak going on, and it's not like people have no idea who Miley is. A Dr. Luke single would have been cool as I've said before but it'd make absolutely no sense in the context of the era that Miley's trying to pull off. If said era's a flop then cool Miley's still sold 20 million albums and has $130 million dollars and lives in a mansion so oddly enough I think she'll live!

Miley always does well on the lead single because her fans would support it. It would be smart to release the luke, sia, cirkut singles as 2nd 3rd and 4th singles to keep people interested on the album and to improve its longevity.

I said this on Twitter earlier but I wonder who the single is featuring. I mean it seems kind of inevitable that there will be some random rapper featured on it.

Hopefully none. Especially the "random rapper" part. She needs to win over the urban audience and gaining street cred by not sticking to rappers they don't use- that means no soulja or lil kim pls.

I don't think she will be actually playing new material at the BBMAs I think we will be lucky for a title and a release date.

But wouldn't it be great if she did something different like announce it and immediately release it and a video then do TV promo for the rest of the week. A girl can dream. I think the album won't be out till 4th quarter tbh.
