Basically, Skylar plays the "mistress" that was probably too clingy, leaving the guy to do something drastic and try to get rid of her. Whatever he did didn't finish the job (probably tried to bury her alive), so wanting to exact some kind of revenge, she shows up in his house hoping to get back at him but realizes now that she was never his girlfriend. He tries to play it cool and think of ways to get rid of her while not seeming too obvious, while the girlfriend cleaning off Skylar's clothes sees rose petals and a present that must've been his inside the clothes. In the background (even though it's not shown) you hear they're both arguing and her calling him a "LIAR"; unsure if this happens before or after the police show up. But, obviously the final act is him trying to finally finish the job, and Skylar getting the last laugh by calling the police before he got the chance.
