Starting to hate her already... mostly because of what she said about miley new music

But is she 100% reliable?

There was a song that Beyonce recorded (?) that's produced by Dr. Luke but it somehow ended up getting sent to Miley. Some producer named Sacha Skarbek wrote about it on his website a few months back. There's a thread about it here but for whatever reason it ended up being 23 pages long, so enjoy.

Okay! I've decided Mike Will probably was the best choice for the first single, as far as just going off of names goes.
I'm looking forward to the Pharrell stuff but his songs can be hit or miss and he hasn't produced a real hit in forever.
Dr. Luke would have also been cool but I'm not here for having Miley's first single in three years be a rip-off of something else. That, and we already have Fall Down which is gonna get promoted to full single status eventually.

So we're left with Mike who has been producing hit after hit lately and it makes sense that if she's made an urban album she should release an urban single and not some dance number.

I'm so excited. After all this waiting.

+ Mike WIll and Mileys songs were the once most hyped about by those who heard it imo and Mike Will is hot right now in the charts.

Also being the overall producer im assuming, Pharrel mustve approved of this choice. And with RCA who usually goes with Luke songs, choosing this song over a Luke song must be a sign of confidence from then.

So yeah I trust this is the best choice to start her comeback era!!!

Do y'all think Miley will get a radio deal with this single? I mean she is signed with Larry now who probably has some strings that he could pull after like a decade in the music business. She could even shell out a few bucks of her own to get that payola airplay even though she doesn't care about commercial success

What hits has Mike WiLL Made It produced lately? And Miley isn't some big name on the charts and definitely not a big name in the Urban field so I don't know why you guys have confidence with her releasing an Urban song.

I'm actually hoping she wouldn't need payolla and that people will request and radio will play just because its THAT GOOD.

All I want from Larry is to hype this as THE BIG COMEBACK ERA the way he did for Britney back in 08. She came back and never looked back.

Pour It Up is what, 1x platinum? And THAT'S a hit? If Rihanna, a HUGE staple on Urban radio, is only hitting 1x platinum with Mike then what is that to say about Miley? This is not looking good no matter which way you spin it. I can't with the delusion in here. Call me pessimistic, but she's been gone for nearly 3 years. She can't just decide to pull something risky like this, even if the label is backing her. I know we haven't heard the song but this most likely won't be a hit.

That's the thing she disappeared for three years finding her sound. If she came back with the same sound aka Dr. Luke even if it goes 5x platinum the whole 3 years and comeback effort will be gone to waste. We dont need another hit as much as we need her to be established and to have longevity. Knowing RCA, a Luke- commercially safe song wouldve happened as the lead (which will wrongly set the tone for the era) but it didnt and were thankful. You should be too.

It's not like Pour It Up isn't still selling? It's not like Pour It Up has a music video? It's not like Rihanna's ever promoted Pour It Up on television or even performed it anywhere except on tour?
You are being pessimistic. When Justin Timberlake came back after 6 years with Suit & Tie produced by Timbaland (who hadn't had a hit in years) people said he would flop too. If Mike Will Made It can get Ciara of all people her first hit in ages I think we can think positive thoughts for just a second.
You've known Miley's been recording an urban album for a year and a half now, why is it suddenly such a shock that *gasp* she's going to release an urban single and try to get a crossover hit on urban radio? Urban media outlets and urban artists and fans of urban music have been warming up to Miley all year. Let her have a chance. She's not a total idiot.

But that's RIHANNA. As in the girl who's had back to back to back hits on Urban radio. We're talking about Miley, an entirely different person who's in an entirely different part of their career. Katy smashed with Dr. Luke but Ke$ha didn't, you can't just say because 1 person made somebody a hit that they'll make somebody else a hit too. Rihanna is at a high point right now, Miley is not even if she does have a strong following.

I just want her to have a successful comeback and this isn't the way to do it. I've stanned the girl for 6 years, bought every album she's released, have posters, movies, etc. so I'm not just stanning for success, but wanting your fave to be successful isn't some convoluted concept. And her working with Mike just doesn't seem like the right decision when Luke is right there. Y'all seem to forget that Fall Down, which was produced by Luke, got to #5 on iTunes with no promo.

A music video and promo would've pushed it to like what, 1.8 million at best. Let's not minxie. Justin is much more famous than Miley and his comeback has been anticipated for years. Ciara's ""hit"" isn't even in the top 100 on iTunes. These receipts.

Miley isn't smart when it comes to what's a hit and what's not. The girl chose Can't Be Tamed as the lead single which we all agree wasn't the right choice. Being realistic isn't being pessimistic. And I sure as hell would like to know what receipts you have to the Urban market warming up to Miley. Is it because she made a twerk video which half of the comments were filled with guys calling her "hot" and wanting to **** her? That's not warming up to potential buyers, that's just guys wanting to bust a quick load. Y'all need reality checks.

I actually think Miley's single will do BETTER than that Rihanna song.

First: Miley's fans will support it. Like you said theyd waited 3 years for this theyre hyped up to buy it. You would too. It only takes like what 20-30 thousand in a day to hit #1 on itunes. I'm pretty sure Miey's thirsty fans would be more.

Second: Miley would promote it heavily being her comeback single starting with the extravagant announcement in the BBMA. RCA should promote it as well.

Third: If Rihanna's REJECTS get some succes I believe the producer of a Rihanna platinum selling song would as well.
