Nicole Scherzinger is on the verge of doubling her money for her second X Factor series, the Sunday People can reveal .
After weeks of negotiating, the US pop beauty has been persuaded to return for £1.5million – twice last year’s fee.
The former Pussycat Doll, 34, is “95 per cent” sure to sign this week.
A show source said: “Simon knows how brilliant Nicole was last year and has to pay what she and her team feel she’s worth.”
A return to the hit ITV1 show means Nicole, who replaced singer Kelly Rowland, 32, last year, will see little of F1 star boyfriend Lewis Hamilton, 28, later this year as he will be racing all over the world.
Meanwhile, Cowell has also been boosted by news Take That star Gary Barlow, 42, will return as head judge for the third year.
Louis Walsh has signed to return for his tenth series and Sharon Osbourne is due to do so in days.

If she's announced as the official judge this month they should rush a single for June/July for UK around the time of the hype for Auditions, Bootcamp and Houses. Then release the album and new single in November and PERFORM on the platform.

At this point even Louis Walsh will sing on the show before Nicole will perform her single
