Rihanna at Z100
Rihanna visited the Z100 radio station to promote her single Black Butterflies, talk about her upcoming new album Robyn, and talk about her plans for the year.
Rihanna arrived to the radio station glowing, dressed in a sports jersey and black jeans. She was very excited and was holding a copy of her upcoming album Robyn, which comes out in two days. "This **** is confidential! But I want ya'll to play Manhunt for my fans. I want everyone to hear a new song before it actually comes out." When asked if her label allowed this, she just winked. Fans called in after they played Manhunt and talked about how amazing it was and how they were so excited for the album. Rihanna beamed and talked to fans. Rihanna also discussed the album and talked about how anxious she was for the release.
"This is easily my most personal album and it's like putting your child out there to be in danger!" Rihanna said, laughing. The album is scheduled to be released on May 14th. "The first single off the album is Black Butterflies, which is one of my favorites. I'll be performing it today for you guys as well." She said cheerily. "And, my Navy got the song to #1! They work so hard for me, so I work hard for them. We're a team. This is our album, our journey." Rihanna also revealed her favorite song on the album is Side Effects. "It's a really experimental R&B track, produced by The Dream. It gets me hyped and takes me to a place, it's great. I want it to be a single."
"I also have one surprise…Mariah Carey is featured on the album!" Rihanna cheered. "She's on the duet 'Past Lover' that we wrote together. I'm so excited for the song, she is an amazing legend. I am so grateful." When asked if it was going to be a single, she smiled. "Hopefully."
Rihanna performed a jazz version of her single Black Butterflies with Z100's live band.
