Lets not forget how the GP didn't like the PFRR era.
To me Nicki releasing this song, was like a NEW start.
She's gaining her crowd back(lyrically, rap etc), and forget about 'that era' ever happened.

Not you showing me an ATRL thread as receipts that the GP liked Freedom.
It woulda shown on iTunes after her performances, commercial exposure and constant Twitter whoring. I even commented recently on the video views (14m... the same as random out of nowhere IAYL) despite autoplay for 5 months on her VEVO. People were not here for Freedom.
Them not liking the PFRR era isn't an excuse either because Va Va Voom was still in regions of iTunes that Freedom never saw at the exact same time period with nothing but a messy video.
The song was not relatable and a horrid single choice IMO. I get the impression Freedom was only appreciated by us. Which is understandable, because only we could appreciate what she was actually talking about.
What do you think about UIF though? Freedom to me is a lighter version of UIF. The lyrics, the production, everything... just seems so girly whereas UIF is like... GRRRRRRRR! I feel UIF would have set the tone of TRU much more effectively.
