Fast National ratings for Wednesday, May 8, 2013
A special episode of "The Voice" Wednesday night beat "American Idol" head-to-head in adults 18-49, although neither show put up very big numbers. "The Voice" had its lowest 18-49 rating of the season (not a big surprise, given that it wasn't its normal night), while "Idol's" first hour was low in both viewers and the demographic.
The second half of "Idol" improved some and helped carry FOX to a win for the night. All three of CBS' shows were up over last week, and the "Voice" lead-in helped "Law & Order: SVU" and "Chicago Fire" improve over last week. On the down side, "Modern Family" slid to a season low for ABC.
