Just because someone has a peculiar taste in music doesn't mean they're a hipster. Any site reviewing any type of entertainment can be political but I highly doubt it goes as far as defending a reviewed artist's fandom. The only thing worse than hipsters are people who accuse everyone of being one and bitch about it.

I agree Pitchfork is bias and transparent but no way in hell just because Grimes namedropped her a few times makes them love Mariah . Grimes doesn't have that power. If anything, It's Miguel.

But tbh, I'm surprised to see Mariah's name to ever be associated with Pitchfork . Good for her!
