There was one source that said it was and the source was in-line with others on the other singles' sales, so let's just assume it is.

I'm wondering how this era would have been if MTN was the first single, the album would be called MTN and BTW would have never happened.

Really random question here...
Lady Gaga Presents The Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square Garden was nominated for five Emmys and won the Emmy for lighting design/direction, but I've heard people say that doesn't count as an Emmy win for her? If she was the star and executive producer, shouldn't it count as a win?
I just want to brag that she's halfway to EGOT

I think I have heard that too that it technically doesn't count as her Emmy win.

If anything it underestimates a lot of her sales, though "Poker Face" is just a little iffy (but not impossible or illogical). Here are all my estimates right now, to be updated very slightly later tonight:
Single US Sales WW Estimate
“Poker Face” 6,899,787 16,492,174
“Bad Romance” 5,333,471 11,950,720
“Just Dance” 6,744,073 11,048,800
“Born This Way” 3,858,702 9,632,072
“Telephone” 3,229,772 9,042,873
“Paparazzi” 3,353,173 7,508,838
“The Edge of Glory” 2,650,000 5,934,206
“LoveGame” 2,500,000 5,598,308
“Alejandro” 2,400,000 5,374,376
“You and I” 2,000,000 4,478,647
“Judas” 1,500,000 3,358,985
“Marry the Night” 800,000 1,791,459
“Starstruck” 679,000 1,520,500
“Beautiful, Dirty, Rich” 275,000 615,814
“Boys Boys Boys” 233,000 521,762
“Monster” 207,000 463,540
“Speechless” 197,000 441,147
“Hair” 174,000 389,642
“Dance in the Dark” 120,000 268,719
“So Happy I Could Die” 114,000 255,283
“Scheiße” 18,000 40,308

Thanks for this! Some surprises for sure.
I wish her label would certify her sales. Do we reckon they're holding out to do that before ARTPOP or when she crosses a certain milestone?

It doesn't count unfortunately, when she one that one I went to the actualy Emmy website and her name wasn't listed under that category's winning list.

She has to win the awards as a lead artist/actress/performer.
As far as I'm aware, I don't think it counts to win an Oscar for best song or Tony for writing a musical. Maybe I'm wrong.

So winning a Tony, Oscar or Emmy based on music doesn't count towards EGOT?

I think the break has gotten into Gaga's head and now she's too lazy to start the ARTPOP era

I can see her getting certifications for BTW (album) after televised performances to show "how successful" the last era was after all.

Just checked, and it seems like you qualify for EGOT as long as each award was won in a competitive category with them named?
That would include whether Gaga writes a Tony award winning score for a musical (a la Elton John) and writing an Academy award winning best song.

Yeah, it serves them well to do that.
I mean, the above estimations take her single sales up to around ~97 million, with 23 million albums on top taking her total records to 120 million after 5 years.

Seems like a longshot for the Queen, but if she sets her heart into it. I bet she can do it

She has good mentors in Elton and Cher because they've won Oscars, Emmys, Grammys and Tonys between them. If she adds Barbra and Liza onto that, she'll be golden and I'm sure they'll all advise her well.
I feel she has a future in theatre, more so than film, and Tony awards aren't out of reach. I can see her being a respected performer and I wouldn't be surprised if she does score a musical at some point. Doing it with Elton seems possible.

of course, I'm not expecting anything soon. It might take her a lot more years before she does musicals and stuff.

You guys are the best, enjoy the wait for ARTPOP, it's coming
