Even if I really liked the material on this album I just think this is the wrong time for Ashlee to release an album. I am just saying this if they want her to have a shot at a #1 album. I know technically a #1 album isn't all that important compared to overall sales but she has had both her previous album debut at #1 and it would be a shame for this one not to make it to #1 based on just being the wrong week.
But I don't think this is a good album for Ashlee and I hope Geffen and/or Ashlee herself realizes this before it's too late. Like I said, spring would be a great time for a new album because it would give her more time to promote and not have a lot of competition. Of course if she has to redo her entire album who knows how much longer that would take...it might not be ready until late spring or summer which also wouldn't be that bad.
It's just really strange that she hasn't done any publicity for this album when everyone else that has an album coming out the same day is in full gear with publicity. I am not a hater of Ashlee. I am a fan. It's because I am a fan and because I know she is capable of a much better album that will have a lot more success that the direction she is going in with this Timbaland album that makes me hope and pray she scraps this album.
Think about it, this whole alter-ego think with the "bad girl" thing sounds so much like the whole Britney "Lucky" thing. It might have worked for Britney but it's not going to work for Ashlee. Britney was around 18 or 19 so when she did the alter ego thing it wasn't bad and it was kind of fun. Ashlee is now 23 and should be putting out more mature stuff. By mature I don't mean songs with a bunch of swears in it. Just because using the F-word is a fault of hers doesn't mean she has to do it in her music or have some rapper swear for her.
Ashlee needs to come out with a ground breaking album and I know she can do it but this isn't it. This is just an album where she is copying everyone else's style and being completely unoriginal. So I hope Ashlee goes back and redoes her album and puts out something her and all her fans can be proud of and be happy to support.
I would support Ashlee if this is the album she puts out but I won't be happy or proud of it. I will buy her album but I won't be posting anywhere about how great this album is but other than what I have said here I won't bash her album either.

For once, we agree on something. But only that bold part.

Well it's a start. The problem with the swears is if she has to put a parental advisory sticker on her album that's the end of her little kids fan base and her album will have no chance at being successful than.

So you're saying even if the material is bad, you're gonna just continue to say it's good and that you support her? I love Britney and has been supporting her since 4th grade, now I'm in 11th, and I can tell you if her 1st single or the songs that leaked afterwards sucked I would flat out not support her. That would ultimately prove she's just trying to put her name back out there as Britney the singer. But since "Gimme More" is good and all the songs that have leaked so far are as well I can tell that her album will be good.
As for Ashlee, record labels pay money for anything being produced, expected to be good. And if it's not good, no album sales, no cash. Timbaland & Ashlee Simpson = BAD MIXTURE. She has not set her career up to be a pop artist who works with urban producers, she is known for her pop/rock career.
I'm gonna buy this album because I like Ashlee and I'm pretty sure there will be something good on it, but "Murder" will most likely be this album's "Burnin' Up", but she's making the wrong decision making it the first single. She needs a radio hit right now because at the moment Britney & Alicia are winning the pack. Ashlee could end up like Britney and tie a record of 4 straight #1 albums, which I doubt going against Britney + Alicia, so all I can say now is we have to wait.

This new music by Ashlee will go with her new style. She doesn't dress rock/punk anymore. She'm more girly. She got her nose done.
The only thing that's "rock" about her is her boyfriend Pete Wentz.

I'm not saying that Murder is good, I'm saying if Ashlee release it, I will support her no matter which will be the choice. I love Ashlee and is hard put me in the other side blaming her work, is her life, is her career, she wanna change, do it! is her problem!, and that's the problem you can say that Gimme More is a good song but you're a Britney Fan and all the Britney's fans say Gimme More is the best **** in the world, but for me is not a good song really and sorry for say that, Timbaland is urban ok but see Nelly Furtado her previous career was totally different, so distant to urban and now is the biggest success, Bjork is not urban and Timbaland produced 3 tracks of her new album. I prefer wait to all the album!. Chicago change Ashlee's life, and her future is in her own hands. And I love Rulebreaker <33

I'm totally agree with the single release, I think the album will be post poned or something like that, or she's fighting for the Robert Smith Collaboration.

Being rock or pop rock has nothing to do with how you dress. Look at Avril. She's changed the way she's dressed but she still does pop rock. Even though it's crappy annoying cheerleader chants she still has some good songs on her album and it's not like it's a total change like going into rap or something like that.
Ashlee never was punk. She is and always has been pop/rock. The thing with Britney is everyone who I have spoke to hates Britney's new stuff with the exception of her die hard fans that will like anything she does anyway. With the general population Britney is a big joke. This is why I believe her album will flop.
I don't agree that Chicago changed everything. Unless you are a die hard Ashlee fan no one in the USA has even heard of Chicago or Ashlee's part in the performance.
Regardless of what happens if Ashlee releases her album the same day as Britney and Alicia it will flop because both Britney and Alicia is light years ahead of her in publicity. I mean everyone knows Britney has a new album coming out and everyone knows Alicia has a new album coming out. But hardly anyone knows that Ashlee has a new album coming out and that's a huge problem for a November release date for Ashlee's album.
I really am hoping something's up and she's redoing her album.

Even a lot of my friends, who don't like Britney, love the song now. "Gimme More" I mean, and even if I didn't like Britney, listening to that song would hook me in. It's your opinion if it's not a good song, but obviously it's good enough to make top 20 in 2 weeks and getting praised everywhere while Ash is sitting debating on whether to ruin her career or not.
Actually Furtado always had done hip-hop, her albums weren't completely filled with it like "Loose" though. And you're missing the point I'm trying to make, also the one Aerometis has said, Nelly and Bjork are nothing in common with Ashlee. They all have different sounds. Bjork's Timbaland songs still stick to her usual sound, Nelly like I said has done hip-hop before, just not as much as lately, but Ashlee's new sound is barring far off from her usual sound.
I pray that Ashlee has a lot of tracks and produce a good album.

L.O.V.E. is a hip-hop sound, the video was terrible I know but the chart performance didn't made a bad job, I prefer wait, I don't won anything predicting this album gonna be flop or this album will be a success, I prefer wait! Murder is not the correct choice but Rulebreaker is the choice, all depends of Ashlee's choice. And I'm agree with you Aerometis, I don't know why Ashlee put the date release in November 13th, I prefer spring too but is her record and of course of Universal and Geffen.

It's November 13th so she can benefit from inflated sales, which won't make any sense if the 1st single ain't hot. And the choice of the 1st single is only the first part. She also needs to make a choice about the rest of album, if it has the sound of what we've heard thus far. "L.O.V.E." was NOT a hip-hop sound. that was a pop song, Furtado's hip-hop tracks were majorly influced pre-Loose era. I <333 "L.O.V.E." though.

I have come up with the perfect producer for Ashlee to work with besides Jack Douglas. That would be Mutt Lang. Mutt is right behind JD as the best rock producer of all time. But, he also has produced Shania Twain's album too so he does have some pop experience. If anyone could Ashlee back with an amazing album it's Mutt Lang. Not to mention could you imagine how amazing a collaboration with Shania Twain and Ashlee would be?

That's what I say, I don't want Murder for 1st single is not catchy like Rulebreaker is!, I love Rulebreaker and I wanna hear the HQ song because all the Ashlee's Songs in HQ are perfect. And I see a Hip Hop Side to L.O.V.E. since Missy Elliott remixed it and Ashlee performed with Pretty Ricky in the Billboard.
