Doing moderately well on urban radio doesn't mean ****. She debuted Top 40 because of the new Billboard rules & she got a boost on radio after dropping the music vid.
IDK which member said I was about to jump ship, but you need to get it together. That isn't something in my character. I think I've posted some positive stuff about Nicki recently. I've only be holding back because she isn't doing anything I feel I need to speak on. I want her to just take a break from everything already. I've said that numerous times in the past. I want her to just step off of the grid for like 9-10 months and then come back.
Real change and progress doesn't happen over night. I know we've seen her grow a lot recently, but i want more gradual and genuine change. Had she NOT done American Idol she could have been coming back from her hiatus in september with a new look for The Other Woman and lots of features. there wouldn't have been negative press, She could have had a seemless transition in the 3rd era. The movie role would open a lot of doors.
I want Nicki to start making moves for longevity. she's 4 years in now, it's time to think about more than money. She needs to brainstorm on how to construct her self as a crucial part of mainstream culture. Her name should be synonymous with QUALITY veracious rap songs and sought after products. Myx is one of the best things she's done in a while IMO. I'm glad she did that one.
It's no secret that Nicki has an abrasive way about her. That's why we love her.We love her brash and insane way of seeing and dealing with the world. She simply needs to realize that the entire world isn't going to be able to identify with her brand. She needs to be more selective with how she transmits her message. a weekly TV show aimed at middle America isn't going to appreciate her.
I love these cute cartoons. I just purchased this for my bathroom. it's going to be adorable. Nicki should commission some drawings for the album booklet. They would simply need to a bit more chic than this one.
I'm very happy that there seems to be less hostility here.. and happy about the fact that two of my favorite posters seem to be finally getting along, or at least are being cordial.
