Everything she does is with her own accord. She may (or may not) be "mentally ill" but she's posting these pictures as well as tweeting the most ridiculous things and it's coming off a bit "try hard". And because we are neither her friends nor family, we react the only way fitting. Now I'm now saying I condone the bullying aspect, because there were things people have said that crossed that [invisible] line, however whenever one posts ridiculous things prepare to be ridiculed.
That said, I hope she gets the help she so desperately needs.
Its also interesting to note that when men go through a 'breakdown', when they return to normality, they are given a second chance, no questions asked and little mocking. See Robert Downey Jr, Charlie Sheen.
But when women go through a breakdown they are forever more 'broken' or '****ed'. See Britney, now Amanda among countless others.
I wish all the best for Amanda, she's a genuinely funny actress with remarkable comedic timing who I've enjoyed watching since I was little.
But due to the severely sexist nature of Hollywood and the main stream media, as well as the prevalent stigma of mental health, even if she did get her life back on track she will not be afforded the same second chance her male counterparts automatically get.
i agree with you and this thread 100%. guys are given tons of chances (especially if they're white). look at chris brown, charlie sheen beat his ex but you swear chris is gonna get that same love from the business. White males get better treatment everywhere in this country (america) period.
In all of those threads I said I hope she gets the help she needs. I take no pleasure seeing her this way she was my childhood idol. I'm more upset though of people on her twitter condoning her odd behavior.

Yeah that's the worst part for me I was the HUGEST fan growing up. And to this day I will always argue She's The Man >>>> Mean Girls
This is true, i don't understand everyone's fascination with trainwrecks either or celebrities having public breakdowns (mostlywomen) they're still people with feelings after all, and for amanda it's really disgusting how people on twitter encourages her.
and there's seriously a double standard when it comes to women and men having breakdowns in the limelight, so gross.

I wish people would stop giving her attention because her tweets are in no way funny. She's just looking for attention because 70% of people didn't even know her until a few months ago (me being one of them)
So I think it's totally okay to bully her because she's giving everyone a reason to
It's never okay to bully anyone... Like... What's wrong with you? That logic is awful. It really upsets me that we have people who think this is justifiable and ok.
But if she does have a mental illness I hope she gets help. I loved watching her on All that/The amanda show/What I like about you when I was younger. It's sad to see her like this.
