In my books, Where Have You Been slayed the universe
It was actually pretty huge in Europe. And not you guys calling a Top 5 Hot 100 as underperforming
The flawless Right Now is hitting #1 and y'all will have to deal.

Then i expect Jump as her back to back #1.
Wait... was WHYB really big in europe i feel like i've never heard it in germany
EDIT: i just looked it up. its peak was #17 in germany and it was one of the 2 songs that charted in the TTT era

WHYB did well, but a lot of the Navy members were hyping this song as the next WFL (even bigger). when it failed to go #1 and sell much, it was deemed an "underperformance" on ATRL. To the rest of the world, it's another smash hit from Rihanna.

Tbh, i also expected it to reach #1. With that flaw free video, and the song ********, it was robbed tbh
Whyb was rushed too quickly. The video dropped so early and the heavy promo spots were in may, weren't they? Those definitely contributed to its less than impressive peak (well it was impressive IMO, but not atrl standards)
If they handle this properly, it should have no issues going top 3, MAYBE even 1
Also, whyb kinda underperformed in regards to digital sales...is it 2x plat yet?
it was around 1.8-1.9 million near the end of 2012, and it got a slight Grammy boost (for its nomination in the Best Pop Solo Performance category), so I'm sure it's at or slightly above 2 million at the moment.
Whether or not WHYB "underperformed" or not, it remains one of the greatest singles Rihanna has ever released and just for the humans being an eye moment in the video (one of the greatest illuminatihanna moments ever) it deserves to be considered amongst the best of her discography.
Why do people want Jump over Right Now? Right Now has worldwide pop hit written all over it. I cant see Jump slaying any genre charts. It's too urban to slay pop and too pop to slay urban. And the reactions to the crowds in the concerts to Jump should say it all. They get excited for the fire but as soon as the fire is over people resume talking.
I just saw Rihanna Wednesday and people LOVEEEDD Jump and were going crazy even before the fire (they went crazier when it came tho) but it's kinda to be expected people not really going crazy for Jump like they would for WFL..most people don't know the song Anyways atleast it's on the setlist compared to Right Now.
I just hate the fact this is a single while she has better single, I'm fine with this being a single later in the era but now it's just Jump would have been perfect for today's market everything is pretty in between urban&pop which Jump features both and Urban would have played this if they played Nicki Starship and Rhythmic&Pop would play it just for Rihanna name.

I'm disappointed that you're not into Miss Fenty's 13th #1 yet Mike.
This song may perform well on radio, but so does boring and generic **** like "I Cry", so that really is not reflective of its ****** quality. Honestly, it's the most unlistenable song on the album for me.
