Pink made a huge change from the first to second album, changing genres and radio format, going from Urban to Pop. Not one of her contemporaries did that.
She released a song with social commentary in 2006, when the Internet wasn't integral to the bussiness, when Paris Hilton was ruling the media, when talking about social issues wasn't the in thing. That's a risk.
She recorded and performed on live tv and on her tours Dear Mr. President, where she openly criticized Mr. Bush. Not one of her pop contemporaries has anything like it on the discographies.
Yes, her singles are radio ready but you can instantly tell it's a Pink song.
She started the pop/rock chick in the aughts. She put out Try This, a punk pop record. Yes, she is a risk taker and you can save your kiiis.
