No shes #8 on the overall chart, its just easier for non-japanese artists to chart there because they also count airplay...

Why would radio play non-Japanese songs if the people are clearly not buying them?

Look, non-jpn artists can sell tons of digital singled/ringtones and albums, but they never were strong CD singles sellers, thats it. Girlfiend sold 2,5 million copies in Japan, maybe... 1% were physical sales

I'm sure you guys already know this but I was looking into different certifications for different countries and in Japan a Diamond album is 1 Million.

"Let Go", "Under My Skin", and "The Best **** Thing" all went Diamond there. I guess she is queen of Japan! Too bad "Goodbye Lullaby" didn't even go double platinum...

Hope this album bring back her Diamond streak

iTunes in Japan is irrelevant

Well GL sales in Japan is more than 25% from the overall sales, while LG sales is 5%

She's the queen of japan no mather how to you look at it

She definitely is without question, I don't think the % matters too much as it comes down to how much in sold in Japan and it only sold 400K or so.

What it does show is how it still went platinum there despite it being her failed album.

I'm so jealous of Selena stans right now...

I will give Selena credit because promo doesn't always guarantee success. You still need to have a good song that people like or it won't matter. With that said, it is obvious why C&GI is currently bigger than HTNGU.
