I don't remember what band it was, maybe the Stones, Aerosmith, Led Zepplin, KISS, I don't know, but i heard that one of these bands used to have a request in their tour rider about a bowl of M&M's with all the brown ones removed from the bowl. Someone from the band would check the bowl, and if even one brown M&M was present in the bowl, the band would not play the show. Now it turns out that there was a good reason for this. The band did this M&M test as a safety precaution. If the staff at the venue where they were gigging was meticulous enough to pick out all the brown candies, then odds were that the staff paid as much attention to their equipment, wiring, lighting, building codes, etc. If the venue couldn't handle the M&M task, then in the band's mind, other things about the venue were probably lacking as well.
