TV Show: 3rd Season Syndrome

The season 3 syndrome is something that happens with TV shows where they lose their magic, a lot of iconic TV shows faced this fase even if they continued successfully.

NBC"s Heroes was campy and crowded with too fast paste of a plot. The same could be said about Lost, True Blood and Desperate Housewives.

But this could not be said with TV titans like Sex & The City, Friends and Will & Grace which started with two an ok first two seasons but roas in their third season.

Can this effect current TV shows like Game of Thrones, American Horror Story or Girls, will they be peak too fast or a late bloomers.

I have a feeling Homeland has peaked and I really hope it hasn't but I don't think there's much they can do to make it not drag on and be about the same thing all the time.

not Vampire Diaries. obviously it's still slaying

and SitComs normally last longer than dramas lately for some reason. i.e. How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory etc.

Friends' 3rd season was its best

I kinda feel like this happened to The Walking Dead because the third season was a bit lackluster to me but it was still a great season and I still enjoyed it. Season 3 of LOST was amazing though.

But 24 peaked with its third season so I'd say the season 3 'issue' is more polarising than downgrading.

Gossip Girl 3rd season was **** and the show never recovered

Lost's 3rd season was entertaining, but considerably worse than the amazing first two seasons.

Mad Men's third season was pretty genius IMO

Buffy had a great third season.. season 4 on the other hand...

Looks like it tbh. For example Gossip Girl had great 2 seasons but it went downhill in the 3rd one

On the other hand, Friends were better with each season and TVD - 3rd season was "meh" but this season is better

AHS is different situation because it's like new series every year I'd say so I hope it won't happen to them.

Dexter's was horrible. But it rebounded on 4th season (though it's going downhill since then)

True Blood's also. Though it didn't rebound as good as Dexter but it's still enjoyable.

The Walking Dead lost me with this season

I don't really remember how was Grey's Anatomy's but I think they peaked like 2-3 seasons ago. Hopefully "Games Of Thrones" remains flawles
