Just because nothing sounds like what people are doing at the time doesn't make you innovative.

Nothing sounded like Rebecca Black's "Friday" at the time, but all jokes aside it wasn't innovative one bit. You can also say that with Mariah Carey's, "Glitter".

And Femme Fatale was her drop in sales, and only went Platinum so she didn't really blow up a new trend or start something big.

You're right. You can say it about Glitter, but no one's claiming Glitter to be generic. I would say the same for something like Loverboy. Nothing sounded like it at the same time.

Genocide

OIDIA, Britney and BOMT weren't innovative. Just the average teen pop album.

ITZ, I can budge and say it was innovative - especially Toxic.

Blackout was VERY innovative; one of the few albums that started the electronic wave.
Circus.. not innovative.
FF..not innovative.

Whether they sound different is irrelevant when we're talking about her music being innovative. She's only had 2 albums of her 7 that are actually innovative - and in all honesty, she's not that fully invested in her work, either. She rarely ever takes a charge in her own music, so having 2 albums of yours to be innovative that you barely wrote on or produced doesn't mean anything to me.
