As I said before, that's what Radiohead did. They didn't like the way the label was treating them, so they left and now they release all their new material independently.

Sorry but that's not how the industry works

Lol, there's a reason you were nominated most hated member by the animals. Literally on every first page of every Ke$ha thread. Keep obsessing.

She obviously does care to some extent, as she works with hit producers. She was probably just embarrassed and caught off-guard so she brushed it off and tried to be positive about her career, so she just said "I don't care."

She's a musician lol. How the hell is she going to become a legend without getting hits? Name me a legendary musician who didn't get a single hit song.
So, she's performing because her label asks her to? Are you saying she's a manufactured label puppet, a cash cow with no say in her career? The ki writes itself.
Promotion is apart of trying to get hits, no? I mean why else would her label push her to promote? LOL to get hits obviously. Say she's doing it because she's forced to, I guess that explains her lackluster performances this era? If she doesn't care about hits then what does she care about? Artistic integrity? LOL isn't performing apart of artistic integrity? Where's them great performances? SHOW ME.

Why are you even in this thread?
I won't even bother with your idiotic logic anymore.

Yep. I think Ke$ha is satisfied with the success she's already had and she's just enjoying it and doing what she wants now.

That's the point all along. If she doesn't get hits do you think her label would support her era? It's a mutual agreement. In order to keep getting label support, an artist has to satisfy her label by bringing in sales and profits. Unless she actually wishes to be dropped, the statement remains hypocritical.

I don't think she cares anymore. She's had her fill with hits and what not. Why do you think she's making an album with The Flaming Lips? I think she wants to have hits, yes, but doesn't care if they're not hits.

Most of her performances this era were pretty good and a huge improvement from previous years.

I think she's just glad to not be broke and living in her car anymore trying to make it as an artist and gets to do what she loves, though. I think she only cares about success to the extent where she can tour, have fans, and perform, which is what her dream is.

Ofc she wouldn't the Gays would continue to use and milk her to death so she's actually all set. LOL
She will leave this planet as a Gay icon regardless!
P.S. - For the record I don't use or have used her. lol

True. I don't know how much she cares but I know it's to some extent. But obviously not that much as she's making an indie rock album with Wayne Coyne that'll have no promotion, not to mention Wayne hasn't experienced any kind of success for years.

She wasn't really forced to sing anything. Dr Luke forced her (by requests of RCA) to make Warrior a pop album though (he made her re-do and re-write each track till they were pop enough, as they thought that be more successful) and sing Die Youngs chorus pitched by Nate Ruess, instead of the one she wrote, and she got upset as she thought glorifying people dying in a pop song was wrong. When people were attacking her for singing the lyrics in the midst of the school shooting, she got upset and the truth came out.

The ignorance in this thread is over-whelming.
First, the title is misleading, she doesn't say straight out " I DON'T CARE FOR HITS" , she says she enjoys having hit songs, but she mostly cares about her fans enjoyment to the music. Reading is fundamental girls, and I'm sure if you ask any artist from GaGa to Nelly Furtado they'll tell you the same thing.
Secondly, it cost $$$ to get out of a contract, and not just pocket change, I'm talking lawyers and all that jazz. Its not like she can up and quit, she's under contract that she signed with RCA.
Thirdly, Dr. Luke was the one that discovered and signed Ke$ha into HIS label. They've been working together since Ke$ha was about 15. Its not like she seeks him out still, they've been a team before every other artist jumped onto his train.
Fourthly, where is Remixed?

I'm with everyone else here. I love K$ but this sounds like an excuse. But I don't blame her for shrugging off the numbers Warrior brought in. Even if she no longer is a mainstream artist, I think she still has a lot to show us. Hopefully she'll continue to have the opportunity to make music!

Thank you. Being signed to a label is a major commitment that you're expected to follow through upon until the terms you've agreed to on the contract have been met by both parties.
If it was that easy to simply walk away from a label, JoJo for example, would be a force in the music industry and would have been on her fifth or sixth album by now. Instead she's been stuck under her contract to Blackground, and even after some legal action was taken, she's still stuck there.
