Rih starts work on Rihanna For River Island Autumn/Winter
Quote:
Not long ago, in February Rihanna debuted her first clothing line in collaboration with her favorite designer, and River Island at the London Fashion Week. The Rihanna for River Island collection was successful enough, and now we will be getting an Autumn/Winter collection by the duo!
The previous collection showed us pure Rihanna style .The picture on left (click for full size) was posted to River Island's Facebook page minutes ago with the following caption:
Last night in NYC - working with @badgalriri and @adamselman on the autumn/winter #rihannaforriverisland collection. You're gonna ❤ it! #riverisland
Stand-out items from the previous collection include a black jersey column evening dress, a brilliantly cut bra top, a navy cropped sweatshirt, and a properly fabulous denim jumpsuit.
Who is excited?

but nobody liked her first collection and that could be because it was designed for super skinny women with no curves whats-so-ever
Anyway, where's the mens collection?

No one liked her collection? Most of the collection sold out within hours and had to be restocked twice. And only for skinny women? I remember Lauren London wearing her collection on The Wendy Williams show, and she has curves.. so... It obviously didnt cater to plus-size women, but women with curves coudl def. rock some of the pieces.

Thank you for proving my point. The collection sold out because it's Rihanna ....

I'm glad Rih geared her clothing towards the slim girls. She is inspiring the overweight to lose their fat and cellulite to be able to fit in her line of clothing and people in here are complaining how the fatties and curvey people aren't able to wear her clothes? You think Versace, McQueen, Chanel, Wang, etc envision their runway looks to fit the big boned?
Anyways, I love her vision. She is single handedly marrying couture and the urban look together to great success. Hope she expands soon to include a line for the guys.

RudeBoy never said that every piece sold out. RudeBoy said " Most of the collection . . ."
And it goes without saying that having Rihanna's name attached to the line helped it sell. So, what's your point? If her customer didn't like the clothes then the collection wouldn't have sold and she wouldn't be doing another line. Rihanna knows her girl. She went after the " Nasty gal" consumer. It was a very young, body conscious, often trashy line. So? The pieces I bought I probably would've copped without her name attached. Only my friends know that they're Rihanna pieces. The other people who gave compliments just said that the dresses were nice.

Some of y'all seriously need to hit the books sometime soon. Anyway, the collection UNLIKE VERSACE, CHANEL ETC was designed to fit Rih's body. As in a woman with no b**bs and no a**. Any girl with a slight curve, doesn't have to be fat, looks weird or bad in the majority if not all the outfits. Remove the stan glasses, please.

Of course RudeBoy told you that the collection had to be restocked twice. You were the one who said that no one liked the collection, which obviously wasn't the case because, as RudeBoy said, most of the pieces sold out and had to be restocked. . . twice. Then you went on this rant about how the line was only selling because of Ri's name, as if there wasn't already a market for the types of looks she was selling, but there is a market for those types of clothes, hence my linking you to NastyGal. I could link you to ASOS, Forever 21, and a variety of other stores peddling the same types of wears, but hopefully by now you're getting the point.
And you're talking about people with Bey type bodies not being able to wear the clothes, when RudeBoy just told you that Lauren London was wearing one of the pieces on a talk show. I'm not overweight, and I still wouldn't have been caught dead in most of the Rih for River Island pieces. That doesn't mean that the collection didn't have anything that appealed to me. The same could be said for overweight consumers because the line carried plus sizes.
