I don't really think she is the definitive face of our generation. No, I am not claiming my fave is either.

I think that she has qualities that do make her a representative member of our generation, but the expanse of people and all the kinds of people there are in this generation make it impossible to say someone is a generalized "face" of our generation.

But really.

It doesn't matter if you like her or not, you just can't refute her cemented status as a true icon of our times.

Death @ some of yall underlying her musical accomplishments, which is Rihanna's most acclaimed and recognized aspect like it or not, her personality comes second, her drug use and "24/7 posts of nudes" are just bonuses, whether you choose to only acknowledge the latter because you're an obsessed ****ing hater is NOT Rihanna's problem. Furthermore, Rihanna brings the music she sings TO LIFE and like no other could, whether that is in the studio or performing, hence why she is so loved ALL OVER THE GLOBE and has EARNED her legendary status. Now yall can go sit in a corner somewhere and weep about it because she is stamped as an ICON in the music industry forever and that's just the way it is.

She definitely represents her stans. Sure as hell not me. She'll never be an icon in my book.

There is no "face" of a generation. So Rihanna may be their face, but she def. is not "the" face. I hate these kind of statements, since they don't make any sense for me. Rihanna may be the face for the Navy and other fans, but she doesn't reflect anything I do or did in my life. She also is not an inspiration for me at any point. So to generalise a whole generation with one person, just feels wrong. Especially since we live in a time where people also wanna accent their individuality.
