Madonna appears on Ellen; talks new album and more
Indigo Records' own Madonna appeared on Ellen today in her iconic "cone-bra", matched by Ellen herself!
The star came to the show to talk her latest single, artists in the industry, the drive behind her album, and more.
Ellen: Hello there, Madonna! It's been a while. Madonna: Well, this is embarrassing... it looks as if we've dressed identically. Oh, dear. Ellen: I bought it first. Madonna: Is that so? *sips tea* Ellen: Oh, Madge. Always the jealous type, aren't you!? Anyways... Godonna... Madonna: I see you've noticed my Twitter name. Iconic, no? Ellen: Yes! You're quite a classy tweeter, refreshing in this day and age. Madonna: I agree. So many younger celebs are very catty over Twitter. I hope to set a good example. Ellen: You do, you do! Let's talk about your new album, yes? Visions From Above! Madonna: Yes! I'm very, very excited for this album. My creative process has been completely revamped. I see it as a Ray of Light meets MDNA sort of mixture. I'm loving it, and it will be out May 4th. Currently, we're promoting the lead single, Far From Heaven, which is a track I wrote with Ke$ha and Calvin Harris, I'm very happy to see such positive reactions from my fans and everyone. Ellen: You wrote that with Ke$ha? Very cool, I'm happy she's capable of... you know, other stuff beyond drinking and glitter and what not. Madonna: *laughs* You'd be VERY surprised. She's a phenomenal woman. I see a lot of myself in her, actually. Ellen: Really? I don't see it. Madonna: She's extremely talented! We actually wrote a few other tracks on the record together, as well. There's this one track called "Bad Dream", which Ke$ha wrote many years ago, before her debut, actually. I heard her demo and fell in love with it, so we resurrected it and polished it, I love it! Ellen: Very cool! Can we hear a snippet of the demo, to see what's in store? Madonna: Absolutely!
Ellen: Wow, Ke$ha wrote that? VERY beautiful! I'm in shock! Madonna: Yes! It doesn't really sound the same now, her man Calvin Harris actually re-worked it for us. He's a very talented individual, we actually worked together on many tracks for Visions From Above. Ellen: If any are as good as that Heaven one, I'll be very happy to listen! Who else have you been makin' magic with in the studio for this new album? Madonna: A lot of new people, I love it! Azealia Banks, first and foremost - I love her single "Barely Intoxicated", it caught my ear and I called her up to collab, it ended up working out very well. I've also worked with William Orbit and Mirwais Ahmadzai, long-time collaborators, obviously. I worked with Mirwais back in the days of Music and American Life, it was great to get in the studio with him again. I've also worked with SeventyEight, a producer my label mate Ciara introduced me to! He produced that big hit "Love Is Eternal", love that song. Finally, I co-wrote a song called "Sensory Eruption" with Bjork. I haven't worked with her in over 20 years, it was very wonderful to get back and collaborate with her again, it's a very refreshing and beautiful piece. Ellen: My my, Madonna. I must say, you're getting me quite excited! What's next for you? Have you picked out a second single? How many songs will make the album? What's your favorite song on the album? Madonna: We're still picking out a second single, actually. We've got it down between 3. 12 tracks will make the album, a few more on the deluxe. My favorite song is a three-way tie between the title track, this one called "Cosmic" and "Sensory Eruption". Ellen: I'm excited for that Sensory Eruption one. It sounds like a futuristic baby-making jam! Madonna: Well... I guess you could say that! You'll have to wait and see! Ellen: Oh Godonna, always keeping us on edge! Tell us, what was your driving inspiration behind this album? Madonna: I'm in a very strange place in my life right now, I wanted to capture it with a creative twist. I've made mistakes like anybody else, and I've been spending a lot of time pondering what I've done and what's next, not just my future but beyond my future, as well. The title came to me in, strangely enough, a vision. I can't quite describe it. It's a complex time in my life, and I think I captured it well with this album. Ellen: That new video of yours, it's very... interesting. Trippy, no? What kind of feel are you aiming for? Madonna: *smiles* It's how I feel, Ellen! *laughs* This album is dominantly electronic, but there's raw moments, too, for sure. Mirwais loves to use guitars, I love it too. Ellen: Godonna, I'm sure whatever you do, all the peasants will be bowing. Madonna: You've been keeping tabs on my Twitter! Ellen: I sure have! It's okay, we all know it's in good fun... maybe Madonna: Surely, Ellen! Ellen: Well, it's been wonderful to have you, Madonna! Come again soon. Next time, don't jock my style. Ellen: Everyone make sure to go get Madonna's latest single, Far From Heaven, on iTunes now! Her new album will be out May 5th, get yourselves a copy!

Recap: Selena Gomez On Chelsea Lately, Confirms Justin Bieber Relationship
Selena Gomez just rocked Chelsea Lately and showed that along with the talent and good looks, she's also a comedic genius! The timing, delivery and just the jokes were great! She fit in perfectly with funny ladies Chelsea, Heather Mcdonald and Loni Love. If performing doesn't work out, she should consider being a comedian! And then she was SUCH a charmer in the interview portion.
